General Dynamics stock historyBeing in the military, I actually never heard of General Dynamics until 2006, where I started up looking stocks for investing, and lo and behold the defense sector was strong. I don’t own them anymore, but I found it odd that I never heard of the company who invented the Fighter Jet. Yet it’s been around since the 50′s and even featured on America’s favorite show.

For a show somewhat oriented to children, it features a General Dynamics sticker on a soapbox car that Martin Prince made. Below the image is a stock chart of GD from the debut of the show. Valued at 4.49 in 1991, the stock has split three times and is worth over about 75 dollars now. So a thousand dollar investment would equate to about $150,000 today. Food for thought.
